Having each job and expenditure documented is a very convenient way to plan construction projects. Typically a Bill of Quantity will contain the descriptions of the work, quantities, rates, and total estimated quantities. A job site construction job, for instance, could need information regarding the excavation, foundation, brickwork, roofing, plumbing, and electrical work. It is easier to read the project owner what is covered in the estimated project budget if they have all the items in one document. They can also be important to get right as there is also a risk that some items will be lost which could impact the construction cost delivered. If you were creating a bill of quantity for a new house, what would be your priorities?
